Consultancy

Websites have developed from simple informational digital folders to serious applications on which company processes rely. The increasing complexity of these applications results in increasing difficulty in managing content on your site. Ablerz has specialised itself to build complex solutions, but keeping content management simple.

Realising complex applications starts with good advice. Ablerz will guide you through the entire development process. Starting from an idea to a functional application. Ablerz consultants have the necessary experience to proactively think about the right solution for your challenge.

Development

If you choose to build your application together with Ablerz, you are assured your assignment is in good hands. Ablerz has been enabling customers to manage their sites with ease for years.

We use our experience to set up a professional DTAP environment which we use for continuous integration. This enables us to manage updates, develop features and fix issues at the same time.

We preferably work according to the SCRUM principle, because we have experienced the power of customer involvement. SCRUM enables us to work with the client as a team. This results in better understanding of the customer’s goals, and better understanding of technical (im)possibilities by the client. We believe this results in better websites.

Maintenance

A web application is never finished. This sounds contradictory, but nothing is less true. Technology is constantly developing, and therefore it is important to stay up-to-date, especially considering security issues.

Ablerz takes care of all the necessary updates, enabling you to worry about other things. Ablerz monitors your website, if an update is available we will install it for you, test it, and deploy it whenever it suits you.

Unfortunately, even in a perfect world, sometimes applications break. Because we monitor your application 24 hours a day, we can make sure the problem is analysed accurately so we can provide a quick solution. If nothing is wrong with your application, and you just want some advice? No problem, you can contact us any time.

Drupal development at RIVM

The goal of the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) is to improve public health and to maintain a safe environment. The RIVM accomplishes these goals by informing the public based on knowledge acquired by conducting independent scientific research. Nowadays the internet is the most efficient way of informing society, companies and government agencies.

Standard solution

Because of the increasing number of websites under maintenance of the RIVM, the decision has been made to build a default solution for deploying websites. Ablerz helped develop a system based on Drupal 8 which can be used to easily deploy new websites. This implementation uses the bootstrap - “Dutch Government Branding” - theme for Drupal 8. Ablerz helped develop this theme and is still maintaining it.

Custom development

The RIVM also has a growing number of contacts. To organise all contacts in an efficient and safe way, the RIVM decided to build a custom made CRM solution based on Drupal 8. Ablerz helped develop the search functionality based on Apache SOLR.

Ever since his childhood, he has been engaged in technology. It started with electronics, but since he got acquainted with the Internet, he was hooked. This system offers unprecedented opportunities and he wanted to do something with this.

Next, to his studies in business communication, he already experimented a lot with websites, but he was determined to make it his daily work. He went to work for a large IT service provider and learned the tricks of the trade. His inquisitive nature and his desire to figure things out quickly brought his knowledge to a higher level.

After working for nine years at the same company, including five years as a lead engineer, it was time for a change. He was determined to start his own business and took on this challenge with colleague Martijn de Wit. Together they founded Ablerz as a perfect combination of knowledge and experience in backend and frontend development. From this moment on Ablerz proudly takes on large enterprise projects.

Educated as an interaction designer and a strong affinity for technology and the Internet. His passion in these subjects drives him in his work. He is always focused on learning and growing.

During his career, Martijn has gained a lot of experience in various organizations and in different roles. He has worked as an interaction designer, UX design consultant, front-end developer / architect and as a Drupal consultant.

Precisely these experiences in a variation of roles enables him to bring together the best of both worlds. Martijn is enthusiastic and eager to learn and spends a lot of time to his personal and professional development. He likes to attend meetings not just to learn, but also just to share knowledge, for example by giving a presentation or workshop.

After having worked for 10 years for an IT services company it was time for a new business challenge. Together with Kobus, he founded Ablerz in 2017.
